Doncaster Rugby Club

Doncaster Dragons, the veteran’s team at DRFC, offers the chance for the more mature player continued participation in our wonderful game. The Club’s commitment to “Rugby For All” is positively promoted and any local player aged 35+ with boots, shorts and the inclination to play gets a game.

Club President Tony DeMulder created the team as a sub-section of the Castle Park club in the late 1970’s. The initiative was to provide a form of the game where the overriding culture is to have fun both on and off the playing field. However, this philosophy by no means tempers the competitiveness and quality of rugby displayed by the players turning out regularly on a Saturday afternoon.

While the Board at Doncaster RFC are renowned for their progressive approach to professionalism and success, thankfully they also recognise the instrumental contribution some of the veterans have had in promoting our Club to the status we now enjoy. Amateur rugby is hugely important to the running of a truly successful rugby club and Doncaster RFC continue to support players of all age and ability with the continued use of the superb facilities at Castle Park.
