2008/2009 Season Introduction

Colts & Academy & Phoenix

This season the Doncaster Colts (U19s) team will be run as a separate entity from the Doncaster Academy. Unfortunately, due to league restrictions and reduced squad and coaching resource, it will not be possible to field two teams (as was undertaken last season for the U17s). This does mean however, that there will be a large squad of players competing for games at the weekend. To try and ensure that players get as much game time as possible and forge closer links with the senior club sides, we plan to rotate players (by prior agreement) on a weekly basis into the Doncaster Phoenix side(s). Part of this collaboration will involve joining the Doncaster Phoenix training sessions during the week prior to the game also.

Rugby Training

Colts training will be on Wednesday evening 6pm-8pm.
(Phoenix Training will be on Tuesday & Thursday evenings.)
The current U17s are in training for their South America Tour in August , and as these players will form the vast majority of next seasons Colts, pre-season training for Colts will be restricted. (Further details to be announced)

Fixture List

Full details are still being put together for the Colts League, Yorkshire Cup and National Cup - we are entered into all of these. Furthermore there are also the Doncaster Phoenix games ... there will be plenty of rugby games on offer. A combined fixture list will be produced and published here but for now, keep in mind that the first Phoenix games are on the 30th August and the first Colts game is on 21st September.
