Tongan Star Tau Signs Extension
Doncaster Knights are happy to announce that Tongan Prop Ngalu Tau, one of the most capped Tongan’s in the country’s proud history, has agreed a 2 year extension with the South Yorkshire club.
Ngalu came to our shores from Tonga to play for Lynn Howell’s Pontypridd, and is happy to continue his association with the Current Knights Director of Rugby. Known for his sheer size, and uncompromising style Ngalu is a fan favourite. With young Tongan Internationals in the squad like Toma Toke and Lisate Fa’Aoso developing under Lyn Howells coaching the South Sea Island influence is increasing in the Knights successful squad.
“Ngalu adds experience to a squad that has seen a lot of young, hungry players added to it under my administration” Lyn Howells commented. “His example on and off the pitch is something that I am pleased we have been able to ensure for another 2 seasons”
This signing follows hot on the heels of contract extensions for hard hitting Welshman Simon Grainger and giant American Lock Luke Gross.
The Tongan trio of Ngalu, Lisiate and Toma will be looking to welcome England’s Chris Ashton back from Suspension this Sunday as they once again play Northampton Saints in a 2.30pm kickoff at Castle Park.
