Under 14's Match Report
Sunday 27th January 2008
Goole 0 - Doncaster 46
Doncaster recorded a double over Goole with a relatively easy win in
very windy conditions.
At the kick off, Doncaster's bigger forwards took control with Bradley
Robinson scoring and Conor O'Reilly converting for Doncaster to take
any early lead. Doncaster tried to move in the backs at every occasion
but it was again the forwards who kept the ball in Goole's "22" for Tom
Howard to crash over from close range to make the score 12-0. From the
kick off, Alex Pugh made a 30 yard break down the middle of the pitch
and side stepping both the Full Back and Winger scored in the right
corner. Just before half time, Doncaster two further tries: Alex Farrell
making a strong run down the left wing, handing off two defenders to
score near the posts, Conor O'Reilly converting and Josh Jones snapping
up a loose ball close to the line to score. At Half time, Doncaster led
29-0.
In the second half, Goole began to compete in the forwards but Doncaster
were soon on the score sheet again with a 40 metre break in midfield by
debutant Jake Staniforth, who although tackled twice, still managed to
score under the posts, Conor O'Reilly converting. Shane "the comedy
Full back" Hill further increased Doncaster's lead with a strong run,
Conor O'Reilly again converting. Not to be outdone by his older
brother, Paul Hill scored in the right corner to make the final score
46-0.
